Marvel Fusion launches Caelora to commercialize high-energy laser systems

Munich, 16 September 2026 – Marvel Fusion, a leader in laser-driven inertial fusion energy, today announced the launch of Caelora, a wholly owned subsidiary to commercialize high-energy laser technology. As a separate legal entity, Caelora is intended to open an additional revenue stream for Marvel Fusion, shorten the technical learning curve for high-energy laser systems and strengthen the supply chain that fusion energy will depend on. Marvel Fusion's fusion power plant program will continue at full pace.

Caelora builds on core technology developed under Marvel Fusion's laser program in cooperation with Pulsed Light Technologies (PLT), which was funded by SPRIND, the German Federal Agency for Breakthrough Innovation. Together with partners from the laser industry, the company is now proceeding to develop and commercialize diode-pumped laser systems for fusion energy and scientific research, as well as radiation sources for medical, industrial and security applications. Headquartered in Munich, Caelora is led by CEO Dr. Lutz Aschke, who brings extensive leadership experience from the photonics industry, having held senior management positions at TRUMPF, SCHOTT and LIMO.
