Marvel Fusion, the State of Colorado, and Siemens Energy Sign Letter of Intent to Advance Laser-Driven Fusion Energy

Munich, 12 August 2026 – Marvel Fusion, the State of Colorado and Siemens Energy signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) to strengthen transatlantic collaboration and accelerate the development and commercialization of fusion energy.

The LOI establishes a framework for collaboration across four key areas: advancing joint research and development programs, including access to leading fusion research facilities, strengthening connections between Colorado’s RISE Hub and VEGA Hub ecosystem, developing transatlantic industrial and supply chain partnerships for fusion energy, and talent development. The partners will establish a joint working group to define priority projects, with delegation visits, expert workshops, and initial cooperation activities planned over the next 12 months.

The signing ceremony took place at the Marvel Fusion headquarters on 9 June in the presence of Jared Polis, Governor of Colorado, and Markus Blume, Bavarian State Minister for Science and Arts. The LOI builds on a broader Bavaria–Colorado agreement, also signed on 9 June, to strengthen transatlantic cooperation in science, research, and innovation.
